SEYMOUR, Ind. – Schneck Medical Center announced further restrictions due to the growing concerns of COVID-19.
Starting on March 17, the Main Entrance at 411 West Tipton Street is only accessible between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Additionally, shuttle service will be discontinued until further notice. The decision was made because of social distancing guidelines set by the CDC. In addition to social distancing, the CDC, along with other medical groups, Schneck Medical will also be postponing elective, non-urgent surgeries. That choice was made to reduce the use of vital resources such as blood products, critical equipment and staff, and the limit the spread of the virus.
The Schneck Professional Building entrance to the main hospital will remain open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and the emergency entrance will remain open 24/7.
Also, visitation limits are still in place. Only two visitors are allowed per patient and have to be 18 years or older. All visitors and patients will also be screened before entering the main hospital building.
