INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Grocery store shelves are running thin as people stock their shelves at home during a period of social distancing as the COVID-19 pandemic continues. As a result, items such as cleaning materials, toilet paper, and other goods are hard to come by for residents.
Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill spoke on Wednesday about his concerns that some Hoosiers may be victims of price-gouging. He is encouraging residents to file their complaints with the Office of the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division. Hill’s office has the authority to impose what is called the Deceptive Consumers Sales Act, which allows appropriate law enforcement intervention in any unfair, abusive, deceptive, or unconscionable conduct.
Anyone who wants to submit a price-gouging complaint can do so here.
