SEYMOUR, Ind. – Schneck Medical Center has announced that starting today, Friday, March 20, it is no longer allowing visitors as COVID-19 continues to grow across the state. Mothers in labor, pediatric patients, surgery patients with sedation, emergency department patients, and end-of-life patients are the only exceptions, but even for these exceptions visiting options are limited.
Any permitted visitor will be required to undergo health screenings and no one under 18 will be allowed. “We did not make this decision lightly. The safety of our patients, their families, our healthcare staff, and the community is our primary focus,” said Eric D. Fish, MD, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Schneck. “These restrictions may be difficult for patients and their loved ones, but we ask for your understanding and cooperation.”
Schneck is also closing its cafeteria for dine-in patrons, however, take-out orders are still available.
