COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce is promoting the U.S. Census Bureau, which is currently hiring for several different positions associated with the 2020 Census. The jobs are temporary, typically 8 to 12 weeks, with pay in Bartholomew County starting at $22 per hour, plus $0.58 per mile for any travel expense. Those hired set their own flexible hours.
Employees help influence how more than $675 billion, from over 100 federal programs, is distributed to states and localities each year. Some of the programs receiving monetary help include Medicaid, school lunches, community development grants, road and school construction, medical services, and business locations.
