WHITELAND, Ind. – Whiteland officials have announced the arrival of Amazon Fulfillment as the first tenant in the Whiteland Exchange Business Park, located at Whiteland Road and Bob Glidden Boulevard, just off I-65. According to the town, Amazon officially arrives in early July, bringing an undisclosed number of employees to the facility.
In Spring 2019, construction started on the Whiteland Exchange with two large speculative buildings. Shortly afterwards, the developer and brokers for the complex begin negotiations with Amazon. Already having current locations in Johnson County, Amazon was looking to expand its presence and a deal was made on the bigger of the two buildings. That structure was already expected to be about 430,000 square feet, but Amazon wanted more room so the total square footage was increased by nearly 25%, to 530,000.
Construction on the new building at the Whiteland Exchange is almost complete, and Amazon is expected to move in over the next couple of weeks.
