COLUMBUS, Ind. – In memory of her parents, Kirby and Caroline Risk, Sherry Risk Stark has made the largest gift received by Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, to establish an endowment fund in memory of her parents. The James Kirby Risk, Jr. and Caroline Robinson Risk Fund for Palliative Support honors the life lessons her parents taught through their service to others, civic and humanitarian efforts, and many acts of kindness.
Sherry has formed a legacy of service of her own as a long-standing member of Columbus, having led numerous integral boards in the arts, served as Deputy Mayor of Columbus, and President/CEO of The Heritage Fund. Sherry has been recognized locally and statewide for her leadership and contributions.
The James Kirby Risk and Caroline Robinson Risk Fund for Palliative Care will provide sustaining support to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana for palliative care services that provide demonstrated improvement to patients enduring a chronic illness. “Our Hospice had a vision to bring Palliative Care to this community and launched it in 2019. This generous gift is a strong addition to a $4 million goal needed for long-term sustainability,” said Laura Leonard, Our Hospice President.
