INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb announced at a COVID-19 briefing on Wednesday that he is keeping the state at Stage 4.5 of the Back On Track reopening plan for at least another month. The Hoosier mask mandate for residents over the age of seven that began on Monday will also continue.
“I want to be safe, not sorry. We have to do everything we can. This virus will take what we give it,” said Holcomb. In the last week, the state has broken its daily record for new cases two different times. He added, “Our persistent high positivity ticking up in parts of our state has caused us to remain at 4.5 through August 27.” As of Wednesday at noon, Indiana’s death toll from COVID-19 stands at 2,733.
