COLUMBUS, Ind. – Officers with the Columbus Police Department (CPD) made a traffic stop Saturday, at around 11:10 p.m., on State Road 11 south of Columbus, in reference to a possible intoxicated driver.
During the pullover and subsequent investigation, Seymour Police Department Detective Sgt. Brian C. Franklin was eventually arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI). He was booked into the Bartholomew County Jail and later released on bail.
Franklin has been placed on administrative leave, through the Seymour Police Department, pending the outcome of an internal investigation. The findings will be forwarded to the Seymour Board of Works and Public Safety.
