COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew County Clerk Jay Phelps updated the community on Monday about important deadlines, voting locations, and other information for the upcoming General Election.
You can register to vote online at indianavoters.in.gov or you may call the Voter Registration and Elections Office at 812-379-1604 to have a form mailed to you. To be eligible to vote in the November election, applications must be turned into the Voter Registration and Elections Office, at 234 Washington St., by Monday, October 5, at 5 p.m.
To vote by mail, you must apply by October 22. Call 812-379-1604 for an absentee ballot application. Mail ballots must be in the clerk’s office by November 3, at noon.
You may vote early, in-person, starting October 6. Absentee voting will take place at Fair Oaks Mall weekdays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and ends on November 2, at noon. It will also be available on Saturdays, October 24, and 31. There will be no voting at the Bartholomew County Courthouse.
Of course, there will be 12 Election Day Vote Centers open in Bartholomew County for traditional voting on Tuesday, November 3, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can view those vote centers and get other information on the General Election on the Jay Phelps Facebook page.
