INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Several local counties in south-central Indiana all saw their unemployment rates fall in October, according to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD).
Bartholomew County saw its unemployment rate drop to 3.8%, from 4.8% in September. The unemployment rate in Jackson County dipped to 4.2%. The Jennings County percentage registered 4.5 in October, compared to September’s 5.2%. The unemployment rate for Johnson County decreased to 3.7% in the last month.
The DWD said Indiana’s overall unemployment rate for October was 5%. The other good news was that the labor force in all four counties was on the rise.
