COLUMBUS, Ind. – Longtime philanthropists, Mark and Wendy Elwood believe in the power of local investment to support community change. The two established the Mark and Wendy Elwood Foundation at Heritage Fund in 2020 and are now pledging $100,000 in multi-year funding for the Council for Youth Development Bartholomew County.
“Wendy and I have seen first-hand the positive impact local investment has on improving the lives of children and families and know this is the best path forward to help our community,” commented Mark Elwood.
The Foundation’s funds extend over a three-year period allowing for the Council for Youth Development’s expansion of youth empowerment programs.
This dedication to Bartholomew County youth is nothing new for the Elwoods. In 2017, the couple launched the Mark and Wendy Elwood Substance Abuse Prevention Fund providing the matching funds to help reach the community goal of $1 million which continues to support substance misuse prevention education for youth and young adults.
