COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew County Emergency Management says the travel status is at an advisory level and will remain there in the event of possible refreezing of any wet roads, especially north of I-70.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the area until 7 a.m. Tuesday. Light snow showers are predicted for the south-central Indiana area Monday afternoon and night with light accumulations of 1 to 2 inches. Rain may briefly mix in with the snow. Reduced visibility with slick and snow-covered roads are possible from Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning.
Most highways are clear and dry now, but officials ask that you be aware and use caution when traveling for the next 24 hours, especially if you are heading to the northern half of the state.
