COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office and the Columbus Police Department announced just after 5 p.m. on Monday that the Bartholomew County travel status is now at the “Red” Warning Level. This restricts travel to emergency travel only.
County roads are in bad shape. The Bartholomew County Commissioners have signed a Disaster Emergency Declaration for Travel Restriction this is in effect from now until noon on Tuesday, February 16.
The “Red” Warning Level is the highest level of Travel Advisory. If you are not an emergency worker, you are required to stay off of the roads.
In addition to Bartholomew County, Jackson, Jennings, Decatur, Brown, and Monroe Counties have been designated with the “Red” Warning Level for travel. Johnson County is listed in the “Orange” Travel Watch category. Marion County is the only county in Indiana that is not “red” or “Orange.”
