SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Seymour Police Department Communications office received an alarm notification from Centra Credit Union, at 520 South Jackson Park Dr., on Thursday. Officers responded and found the glass of the main entry doors was smashed but no one inside.
Police viewed surveillance footage and determined that two individuals had broken the glass and one of them entered the building and reportedly checked the vault and at least one teller station before exiting.
Seymour Police Department (SPD) investigators were summoned and crime scene technicians processed the scene and collected a number of items believed to contain some evidentiary value. SPD further reviewed Centra’s surveillance video and footage from other nearby businesses.
Two male juvenile suspects, ages 15 and 14, were brought in for questioning and then arrested for burglary. The 15-year-old was also charged with criminal mischief, theft, and possession of marijuana. Both were detained pending court hearings. The case remains under investigation.
