INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) confirmed 1,461 new residents as having contracted coronavirus in its Friday update. Statewide COVID-19 cases continue to jump in recent weeks.
Friday’s total was the most in one day since late April. To date, 771,299 Hoosiers have been infected with the disease over the last 17 months.
ISDH also verified six deaths on Friday and now 13,576 Indiana citizens have died from the virus.
Bartholomew County documents 8,296 cases, Jackson County reports 5,186, Jennings County certifies 2,404, and Johnson County has recorded 18,899 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
