WHITELAND, Ind. – The Clark-Pleasant Community School Board in Whiteland approved a new starting minimum wage of $15/hour for its workers at its August meeting.
“It was time,” stated Superintendent Dr. Patrick Spray. “Our custodial, food-service, and support staff work diligently to make sure our students are well-fed and well-cared for, and that our schools are clean and safe.”
He added, “competition from other companies is making it more difficult to compete for quality staff members.” The district has had issues filling open positions with the job market being extremely competitive. Dr. Spray continued, “Clark-Pleasant staff members are critical and are a huge part of the district’s overall success.”
