COLUMBUS, Ind. – A Kentucky man, suspected of driving while intoxicated, was taken into custody Thursday night after he reportedly crashed his car on I-65.
The Columbus Police Department (CPD) responded to northbound I-65 near the 64-mile marker, at around 10:45 p.m., in regards to the single-vehicle accident. The driver of the car, Christopher Gordon, 33, of Louisville, was treated by paramedics for a laceration to his head.
Officers noted that the man had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and observed several open alcohol containers in his vehicle. The suspect was transported to CPD where authorities say he provided a breath sample of .236%.
Gordon was arrested, jailed, and preliminarily charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
