COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is investigating a hunting-related accident that occurred Saturday in Bartholomew County.
DNR conservation officers were dispatched to private property near the 11000 block of South County Road 800W, just after 8 p.m., regarding an injured man who had fallen from a tree stand.
Zachary Burbrink, 33, of Columbus, was hurt when his tree stand cable broke and caused him to fall about 12 feet to the ground. He was reportedly not using a full-body safety harness at the time of the incident.
Burbrink, who suffered a back injury, was flown by medical helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital.
