NORTH VERNON, Ind. – Jennings County Sheriff’s Office Swat members and Nashville Police Department officers executed search warrants, at a house on Country Manor Street in Country Squire Lakes, Friday at around 3:30 p.m.
The Brown County warrant was issued as a result of the suspicion of counterfeit money being used to purchase items in Nashville and the money being traced back to the Country Manor location.
During the search of the residence, evidence was allegedly recovered in regard to the counterfeiting case being investigated by the Nashville Police Department. The search also supposedly led to the discovery of methamphetamine, marijuana, drug-related items, and other controlled substances in the home, in which there were two adults and three children present.
A male resident, Darren A. Baker, 39, of North Vernon, was arrested and booked for neglect of a dependent. possession of meth, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, violation of legend drug act, and possession of paraphernalia. He also faces charges in Brown County.
Charges are pending on an adult female, Jennifer L. Tolbert, who was in the residence at the time.
The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office said the Department of Child Services responded to the scene.
