COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Solid Waste Management District is celebrating America Recycles Day by promoting recycling within the county this weekend. It is holding its annual fall amnesty event on Saturday, November 13, at the Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center, 720 Mapleton St, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
For no charge, Bartholomew County residents may bring to the center their hard-to-dispose of items, including up to four tires, up to two CFC or refrigerant-containing appliances, and up to two propane tanks.
Free document shredding will also be available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. No household hazardous waste will be collected during the event. More information about the recycling weekend can be found here.
The official date for America Recycles Day is Monday, November 15, and residents are encouraged to “Get Caught Recycling” at the Bartholomew County Landfill.
