COLUMBUS, Ind. – A pipe bomb was destroyed by specially trained Columbus Police Department (CPD) personnel after the explosive was found at a Columbus golf course on Sunday evening.
Officers responded to Greenbelt Golf Course, 1000 North Gladstone Ave., at 6 p.m., in regards to a suspected pipe bomb that was laying in a ditch. Members of the CPD Hazardous Devices Unit rendered the device safe.
There were no injuries and there was not believed to be any danger to the public. A search of the area was conducted and no additional explosive devices were located. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
