SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Seymour Police Department (SPD) released information on Tuesday about a robbery and subsequent arrest that happened last week.
On Monday, November 8, representatives from Seymour Manufacturing at 500 North Broadway St., reported a burglary to police that they say took place just after 3 a.m. the day before, Sunday, November 7.
It resulted in over $3,400 of battery-operated power tools being taken. SPD says the building did have video surveillance of the incident.
On November 12, after a tip from a Seymour Manufacturing employee, officers went to a residence in the area of 5th and Blish Streets.
Investigators made contact with Jordan Ackeret, 22, of Seymour. The suspect originally denied being involved but, during a formal police interview, Ackeret later allegedly admitted to the burglary.
A search warrant was obtained for a shed at 701 East 5th St., where SPD supposedly found several battery-powered tools and batteries belonging to Seymour Manufacturing.
Ackeret was arrested for burglary and theft and transported to the Jackson County Jail.
