NORTH VERNON, Ind. – A pickup truck that was allegedly stolen Saturday from a Seymour business, was located by the North Vernon Police Department (NVPD) at around 11 p.m. that same evening. Officers also recovered a 12-gauge shotgun that was in the vehicle at the time of theft.
Police spotted a truck matching the description of the stolen vehicle at the Casey’s General Store gas station at State Road 7 and Highway 50. Police verified the license plate as matching the stolen truck and initiated a traffic stop at State Road 7 and County Road 300N.
Robert Jackson, 29, of North Vernon, was arrested. NVPD also supposedly found drug-related items associated with the use of methamphetamine in the suspect’s possession.
Jackson is facing charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while suspended with a prior conviction.
