COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday afternoon that Jeremy Sweet, 39, of Columbus, has been served an arrest warrant. The body of his two-year-old daughter, Emma Sweet, was recovered in the East Fork White River on Sunday after a two-day search.
He has been charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in death, a Level 1 Felony, and unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 Felony.
The charges are a result of the lengthy and detailed investigation by the sheriff’s office and several other assisting agencies.
Sheriff Matt Myers said, “Any further questions about this investigation or charges may be directed to the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office.”
