GREENWOOD, Ind. – UPDATE: Law enforcement located the suspect from the Thursday night pursuit on Friday morning in the Old Trail/Three Notch area in Greenwood. He was identified as Efrain Perez-Ramine.
When confronted by police, he allegedly pulled a weapon and was shot by a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office deputy and an Indiana State Police trooper. Both have since been put on administrative leave.
The suspect later had to be tasered to order to be taken into custody. He was transported to a hospital and his condition is listed as stable.
No law enforcement officers were hurt in the exchange. More information from authorities is forthcoming.
Original: The Bargersville Police Department initiated a traffic stop in the area of State Road 144, near the Morningside community, on Thursday, at 9:20 p.m.
During questioning, the officer said the man supposedly identified himself as Alejandro Pisano before placing his vehicle in drive and fleeing.
Police pursued the car to the area of East Old Plank Road where the suspect stopped and exited the vehicle. He fled on foot while allegedly displaying a weapon. A K-9 from the Greenwood Police Department and a Bargersville Police Drone were employed in the search that lasted for 3 1/2 hours.
At this time, the suspect has not been located. Law enforcement asks any citizen to contact 911 if they observe any suspicious activity or persons in the area.
