SOUTH-CENTRAL, Ind. – Last Thursday’s snow event is in the rearview mirror, but the effects of the storm are still around. Indiana State Police (ISP) Public Information Officer Stephen Wheeles is urging all motorists to remove the ice and snow from their vehicles before traveling. Failing to do so could be a hazard to other drivers.
On Sunday, Wheeles and another ISP trooper investigated separate accidents on I-65 near Columbus and I-74 near Batesville. In both mishaps, a large sheet of ice came off of one vehicle and shattered the window of another car.
Drivers and passengers of the damaged vehicles were showered with glass but otherwise not injured.
