INDIANAPOLIS – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Indianapolis has issued a Flood Watch for most of central and south-central Indiana, including the counties of Bartholomew, Johnson, Jackson, Jennings, and Brown. The Flood Watch is in effect starting Wednesday evening and continuing through Thursday evening.
Flooding caused by moderate to heavy rainfall is possible. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Rain amounts of one to two inches are possible Wednesday night and Thursday. Residents are advised to monitor local weather reports and be alert for possible Flood Warnings.
At the moment, NWS clarifies that the directive is only a Flood Watch.
