JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation’s I-69 Finish Line project is upgrading nearly six miles of the State Road 37 corridor in Johnson County for the new interstate and local access roads.
Five sections of access roads were completed in 2021 and construction of two others began. Later this year, access roads west of the future I-69 will extend from Wicker Road in Marion County to State Road 144 in Johnson County.
Crews spent last year completing temporary paving along S.R. 37. During the construction of new pavement and bridges, S.R. 37 in Johnson County will remain open to two lanes in each direction, with nighttime lane closures.
Construction continues for three interchanges that touch Johnson County – State Road 144, Smith Valley Road, and County Line Road. The Fairview Road and Banta Road traffic signals will remain operational during the construction of nearby interchanges to provide local access to S.R. 37.
