FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office and Franklin Police Department (FPD) released information Friday that on February 15, Prosecutor Joe Villanueva filed charges against Steven Allen McCray, 35, of Franklin.
The charges, dealing in a controlled substance, dealing in marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia, stem from the execution of a search warrant on McCray’s residence on February 11.
According to the probable cause affidavit, during the search the Franklin Police Department and Johnson County Sheriff’s Office allegedly located over 200 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms, over 30 grams of marijuana, and $20,533 in currency.
Law enforcement said that intermixed with the currency was previously marked “buy money” utilized by detectives to purchase drugs according to the probable cause affidavit. The currency was seized by police for forfeiture proceedings.
Police Chief Kirby Cochran applauded his narcotics detectives and said, “FPD will do whatever it takes to remove this poison from our community.”
