COLUMBUS, Ind. – A wanted female was apprehended by the Columbus Police Department (CPD) on Monday evening after a short foot pursuit.
Officers saw a woman run inside a home in the 1500 block of Chestnut Street, at around 6:15 p.m. CPD observed the woman exiting the house moments later and she began running westbound on 15th Street.
The suspect, later identified as Lindsey P. Smith, 33, of Taylorsville, was ordered to stop by law enforcement but she continued fleeing from officers. The woman was soon caught and detained. Police determined that she had an outstanding Bartholomew County warrant.
Smith was taken into custody and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where she was preliminarily charged with resisting law enforcement and the Bartholomew County warrant.
