COLUMBUS, Ind. – The City of Columbus has announced plans to lift mask requirements for citizens and employees who visit city buildings unless they have COVID-19 symptoms or recently tested positive for the virus.
The change in mask requirements begins on Friday, March 4, making face coverings optional in city-owned buildings.
The decision comes a few days after the CDC released new guidance for masks. Columbus officials also cited the decline in local coronavirus cases and hospitalizations.
Face coverings are still mandatory when riding city buses.
