INDIANAPOLIS – According to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD), Bartholomew County’s unemployment rate was 1.9% during January. It is the second consecutive month that the rate was below 2%. The county also reported 42,199 employed residents out of the 43,123 who make up the labor force.
Johnson County’s unemployment rate was 1.7%, while Jackson County recorded a rate of 1.9%, Jennings County came in at 2.6%, and Brown County was at 2.3%.
The DWD announced Monday that Indiana’s unemployment rate fell to 2.4% in January, the second month in a row a new record low was set.
