COLUMBUS, Ind. – The City of Columbus is starting its yard-waste program this Monday, March 21, and it will run through December 16. Residents participating in the program must place all of their twigs, sticks, small branches, and grass in a yard waste toter.
To take part, you must have a “Toter” brand waste container. If you do not already have one, they can be purchased at Lowe’s. Toters need to be out at your curb by 7 a.m. on your trash day for collection.
If you are not a part of the regular yard-waste program, the Department of Public Works is having a special Spring Clean-Up initiative in April. Residents will have the opportunity to clean up their yards by raking leaves, grass, and pine needles to the curb for collection the same day as your trash collection. Leaf vacs will be collecting the loose debris from April 4 to April 15 only.
