COLUMBUS, Ind. – Construction is expected to pick up over the next few weeks in the existing I-65 construction zone in Bartholomew County.
Work began last year on the $65 million “Added Travel Lanes” project that also includes asphalt resurfacing on I-65 between Columbus and Taylorsville, as well as a deck overlay on the I-65 bridge over State Road 46.
The added travel lanes and resurface portions of the project are expected to be completed this fall, with additional work expected through summer 2023.
Starting this Monday, March 21, through Friday, March 25, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily, expect nightly lane closures on northbound I-65, between mile markers 64 and 68, to place a temporary concrete barrier wall.
In addition to closed lanes, drivers should expect an around-the-clock reduced speed limit of 55 mph, with 45 mph flashing signs when workers are present.
