HOPE, Ind. – As part of its effort to better serve the community, the Hope Police Department is establishing its “Senior Citizen Check-in” program. The purpose is to reach out to the elderly or shut-ins living alone throughout the town of Hope.
Participating individuals are contacted each week by a police officer or dispatcher to check on their well-being. The program is a free service enabling seniors living alone to feel more secure and offers them a few precious moments during the day to interact with someone.
If you have a friend or relative who might benefit from the “Senior Citizen Check-in” program, or if you would like more information, contact Matthew Tallent at the Hope Police Department, 812-546-4015, or email him at mtallent@townofhope. org.
