VERNON, Ind. – The Friends of the Muscatatuck River Society (FMRS) has announced that the annual Spring River Cleanup (“Kevin’s Kleanup”) will be on Saturday, April 16. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at the Vernon Commons, off Jackson Street in Vernon. The cleanup is conducted in memory of Kevin Jayne, former president of FMRS.
Volunteers can either walk along the banks of the Musctatuck or paddle a section of the river while collecting trash and contributing positively to the environment and community. You should dress appropriately for outdoor work and current weather conditions.
The event concludes at noon with a free lunch at the Jennings County Highway Garage near the fairgrounds.
