COLUMBUS, Ind. – Construction continues to pick up on I-65 in Bartholomew County. This past week, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) intermittently closed the northbound lanes of I-65 overnights, between mile markers 64 and 68.
This Monday, March 28, the southbound lanes of I-65, between mile markers 64 and 68 will be shut down sporadically so that southbound traffic can be shifted to the northbound side. This configuration will then be in place through July.
Starting Tuesday, March 29 through Friday, April 1, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., there will be nightly intermittent lane closures on I-65 both northbound and southbound, between mile markers 68 and 76 to begin preliminary resurfacing work.
The construction is all part of the $65 million added travel lanes project. In addition to lane closures and traffic shifts, drivers should expect an around-the-clock reduced speed limit of 55 mph, with 45 mph flashing signs when workers are present.
