INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) announced Monday the February unemployment rates for Bartholomew and surrounding counties all remained low but ticked slightly higher.
For Bartholomew County, the rate was 2.1% during February, up from 1.9% the previous month. The county also reported 42,267 employed residents out of the 43,193 who make up the labor force.
Johnson County’s unemployment rate was 1.9%, while Jackson County recorded a rate of 2.2%, Jennings County came in at 2.9%, and Brown County was at 2.6%. All were slightly up but well below the February 2021 rates.
DWD announced last Friday that the state’s unemployment rate fell to 2.3% in February, the third month in a row that Indiana has set a new record low percentage.
