COLUMBUS, Ind. – After longtime conductor and artistic director David Bowden announced that he would retire at the end of the 2021-2022 season, the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic (CIP) began its search for his replacement.
Initially, more than 100 bandleaders applied to fill his podium. The competition for the position has recently been narrowed down to six finalists.
To help decide on who the next conductor will be, the CIP will have each finalist conduct one of its concerts during the 2022-2023 season. Meet all six maestros in an unforgettable audition season labeled, Passing the Baton.
