COLUMBUS, Ind. – At its Tuesday evening meeting, the Columbus City Council approved an update to the city’s 2010 bike and pedestrian plan. Details will be worked out over the next few years as engineering and social considerations are discussed. Public input indicated that physical separation between bike paths and motor vehicle thoroughfares and safe crossings were high priorities.
The council also authorized the sale of Otter Creek Golf Course. The next step is to find an interested private-sector buyer. The city will stipulate that a buyer would maintain its championship-course status.
In other business, the council approved a fiscal plan, plus rezoning and annexation requests put forth by Arbor Homes, which is developing a neighborhood on the city’s northwest side.
