SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Seymour Police Department (SPD) received a report Monday morning at 2 a.m. from an individual alleging that his vehicle had been rammed, a firearm had been pointed at him, and the driver who struck his vehicle had fired several shots. The complainant advised officers that the suspect possibly lived at 303 S. Airport Rd., in Seymour.
Police located the man and his vehicle in Kimberly Mobile Home Park and he was taken into custody. SPD investigators conducted an interview with George B. Simmons, 45, of Seymour, who supposedly admitted to firing the weapon but did not know how many shots were fired. Nobody was hurt in the incident.
A search warrant was obtained, and in the trunk of the vehicle, investigators say they found a Rohm .22 caliber revolver containing spent casings.
Simmons was charged with criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, criminal reckless with a vehicle, intimidation, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
