COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus Animal Care Services solicited the help of the Columbus Fire Department (CFD) on Friday afternoon to rescue two goslings who were trapped in a drain. The two baby geese had fallen into a drain near Chili’s restaurant at the corner of US 31 and Taylor Road (10th Street).
CFD assisted in removing the drain cover to allow Animal Care Services to reach the goslings. Within a few minutes, the goslings were pulled from the drain and reunited with the anxious mother goose and three siblings who were watching rescuers from a short distance away.
