FRANKLIN, Ind. – Franklin College students, employees, alumni, trustees, friends, and corporate sponsors joined in the spirit of philanthropy during the 10th annual giving day, #GivetoGRIZ, earlier this month. The result was the most successful one-day giving event ever for the college.
The college raised a total of $298,840, obliterating the goal of $200,000, a huge increase compared to last year. The total number of donors for the day was 1,228, an increase of 4.4% from last year, and surpassing the goal of 1,000.
Donations during this one-day giving event go to all corners of campus, including the Franklin Fund to help provide tuition assistance for Franklin College students who qualify for help. Officials say that nearly 100% of Franklin College students receive some form of financial aid, many of whom would not otherwise be able to afford a college education.
The sponsor of the 10th annual day of giving, #GivetoGRIZ, was Elwood Staffing.
