JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. – Forty one birds in Johnson County have tested positive for the avian flu. The birds are part of a backyard flock and have been quarantined. Nearby flocks are being tested to ensure it hasn’t spread to neighboring areas.
Health officials say avian influenza does not present an immediate public health concern, but anyone in Johnson County who is concerned can contact the Board of Animal Health at 317-544-2387 to schedule free testing.
