COLUMBUS, Ind. – Construction of the 150,000 sq. ft. fieldhouse at NexusPark has been awarded to Columbus-based Force Construction. Force Construction was one of two companies that submitted a response to the request for qualifications and request for proposals for the fieldhouse project, part of the planned addition to the existing structure formerly known as Fair Oaks Mall. Force Construction’s bid was the lowest bid of the two proposals evaluated by the City.
The next step in the project is demolition of the old Goody’s space according to Columbus Mayor Jim Lienhoop, “the fieldhouse will go in there and in that parking lot on the Northern end of NexusPark and hopefully we’ll be able to start that in June, but it might be July.”
Interior renovations have already begun.
