COLUMBUS, IND. – The Bartholomew County Council met Tuesday evening and considered funding the interest on payment for the nearly-completed Court Services building.
The deal the county worked out with the Columbus Redevelopment Commission called for the commission to pay the first $3.5 million, with the county paying the balance. Councilmember Mark Gorbett noted that $1 million has been set aside in the county’s general fund.
Bartholomew County Auditor Pia O’Connor said that the council would not be able to act on the matter at this time since no public announcement had been made, so the council decided to revisit the matter next month.
