SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Seymour Police Department (SPD) has made several arrests in relation to an armed robbery on Wednesday night, May 4, in the 600 block of Euclid Street, in Seymour. The residents advised officers that three individuals entered their home and one held them at gunpoint while the other two ransacked the house.
The victims told detectives that the suspects took an undisclosed amount of marijuana and prescription medication. No one was hurt during the incident.
After interviews were conducted, a search warrant was obtained for a residence on Garden Avenue in Seymour. Police allegedly located multiple firearms, including one matching the description of the weapon used in the robbery, plus ammunition, over two pounds of marijuana, and THC vape cartridges.
A male juvenile, 15, of Seymour, was taken into custody for armed robbery and theft. He is being held by the Jackson County Probation Department at a juvenile detention center pending initial hearings.
This past Monday, a 16-year-old male was arrested for armed robbery and theft. He had already been detained on an unrelated incident for criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and criminal recklessness with a vehicle. Also on Monday, another suspect at the residence on Garden Avenue supposedly admitted to possessing pot and THC vape cartridges. Keegan Brooks, 18, of Seymour, was busted for maintaining a common nuisance, dealing in marijuana, and possession of marijuana.
Later Monday evening, SPD investigated two incidents where three male juveniles, aged 15, 16, and 16, and two female juveniles, both 15, were arrested for intimidation of a witness. This was directly related to the armed robbery that took place on May 4, at the residence on Euclid Avenue.
On Wednesday, May 11, a third male juvenile, 14, of Seymour, was arrested for the May 4 robbery. The teen was arrested for robbery and theft, ordered held by the Jackson County Probation Department, and transported to a juvenile detention center pending court hearings.
