COLUMBUS, Ind. – A Columbus man was arrested Thursday, May 19, after allegedly firing a gun at another car near US 31 and County Road 400S in Johnson County during an apparent road-rage incident on April 25. No one was physically harmed during the shooting.
Johnson County Sheriff Duane Burgess said Kaden Matthew Marsh, 18, of Columbus, was arrested and charged with criminal recklessness and two counts of pointing a fireman at another.
The person who reported the shooting stated that when they approached the stop sign at the intersection, an SUV driven by Marsh pulled in front of their car after having followed them for a while. The victim drove around the suspect’s vehicle to escape the situation, supposedly witnessing Marsh brandish a gun and hearing gunshots as they drove away.
Law enforcement later discovered 9mm shell casings at the intersection. They were also able to review a video of the incident that was recorded on a home surveillance system.
Marsh was identified in a photo line-up and finally taken into custody Thursday night. He was later released from Johnson County Jail after posting bond.
