COLUMBUS, Ind. – Ivy Tech Community College Columbus was among 22 recent recipients of this year’s Career and Technical Education Awards by the Governor’s Workforce Cabinet. Recognized for its Cyber Academy based in Jennings County, the Columbus campus received its award in the Postsecondary Programs of Study category.
The academy is an accelerated program based at Muscatatuck Urban Training Center in Butlerville and offers students a two-year associate degree in just 11 months. While pursuing their degree, students become eligible for industry-recognized certifications that are often required for high-paying careers in the cyber security field.
Dr. Jackie Fischer, vice chancellor for Academic Affairs at Ivy Tech Columbus said, “Our graduates are finding well-paying careers in the field. Some are even being offered jobs before they graduate.”
