INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) announced Monday that the April unemployment rates for Bartholomew and surrounding counties all went down.
For Bartholomew County, the April rate was 1.7%, significantly lower than the March rate of 2.3%. The county also reported 42,618 employed residents out of a 43,341-person labor force.
The Jennings County rate for April was 2.3%, compared to 3.0% the previous month. Johnson County’s unemployment rate was 1.6%, which was lower than the 2.1% March rate. Jackson County recorded a 1.8% April rate, compared to 2.3% for March.
DWD announced last Friday that the Hoosier state’s April unemployment rate remained unchanged at 2.2% from March.
